Shell

Sir John Betjeman and his work are part of Shell’s history. The Shell County Guides in the 1930s were Betjeman’s brainchild and became one of our most memorable marketing campaigns. In addition, Betjeman made 26 films for Shell in the ‘Discovering Britain’ series.
Nearly eighty years later we are proud to continue our association with Betjeman and are therefore delighted to support the John Betjeman Poetry Competition.

Eurostar

Eurostar, the international high-speed passenger train operator which links the UK with the continent, is proud to support the John Betjeman Poetry Competition. It is fitting that Betjeman’s passion for poetry and the railways is inspiring new generations of children. St Pancras International has been our new central London home since 14 November 2007 and we have carried many millions of international  travellers since that historic day. Many visit the iconic Betjeman statue and are interested to discover more about how this visionary man saved the station. It is incredible to those that wonder at its fully restored splendour that it was ever under the very real threat of complete destruction.
